The story of UCN began in June 2000. Bishop Leon and Pastor George Granados of the Faro De Luz Revival Church in Chester, Pennsylvania were guided by The Holy Spirit and understood that Ricky Alvira and his family had a calling to pastoral ministry.
When the Alvira family arrived in Carney's Point, New Jersey, Friendship Mennonite Church had been praying for expansion. It was there that Pastors Dan Lapps and James Wegner, guided by the Holy Spirit, decided to give Apostle Ricky the opportunity.
Apostle Ricky began ministering in homes with Bible studies, being guided by Pastors Paul and Joan Landis. After having reached many families, they decided to start having services in the temple on December 24, 2000 under the name Iglesia Un Cántico Nuevo.
By 2004, the Church was growing rapidly with a restorative Kingdom word. Within 9 years of being established, we purchased our building and own our church. We are now a multicultural and multiethnic church that continues to grow rapidly.
